Planning your once-in-a-lifetime romantic European getaway? How many countries should you visit? How many cities should you include? My recommendation is no more than two countries that are within a day of travel from each other, and no more than two cities in each for a 2-week trip. If you try to fit any more than that into your two-week trip, you will be exhausted, and angry, and you might get a little hot-tempered.

The best way to spend two weeks in Italy? On a custom travel itinerary that includes, Venice, Florence, and Rome. Italy is a country that is easily traveled by train to visit these three iconic cities. Take a gondola ride along the canals of Venice, enjoy a Tuscan cooking class in Florence paired with wines of the region, and visit the historical sights of Rome. Trip tip: fly into Venice and return home from Rome.

Dreaming of Paris? Paris is a city that you could easily spend a full week exploring. For 7-10 days, you could add on day trips to explore the chateaus of the Loire Valley. If you will be visiting the Louvre, it is best to plan on spending a full day exploring all of the treasures within.

When in Spain, it is best to plan on a minimum of 10 days to get the best experience while you explore Madrid and Barcelona. You can add an optional tour to explore the beauty of Granada and the Alhambra.
