Hi, I’m Michele, the travel advisor (AKA Travel Agent) behind Lucky n Love Travel, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I truly love to travel—and I’ve been hooked since my first international adventure at 13.
My first trip abroad was an eighth-grade French class trip, and my first international trip without my family. Apparently, that was all it took! I’ve been exploring the world ever since.
A Travel Advisor Who Loves to Travel
Some of my favorite destinations are Mexico, Ireland, and Scotland.
I especially love Mexico and the Riviera Maya for the beautiful beaches, amazing food, wonderful people, and incredible variety of resorts. From Cancun and Playa del Carmen to the Riviera Maya and beyond, there are so many options for destination weddings, honeymoons, elopements, and romantic getaways in Mexico. I’ve spent years getting to know the destinations and resort options that make Mexico such a popular choice.
I also have a special place in my heart for Ireland and Scotland, where the scenery, history, and people make every trip memorable.
And don’t make me choose between a beach vacation and a European city adventure! I love both. Give me turquoise Caribbean water one trip and Paris, Edinburgh, or Dublin the next, and I’m a very happy traveler.
Sometimes the Best Travel Stories Are the Ones You Didn’t Plan
At the time, I was definitely not laughing. Today, it’s one of my favorite travel stories.
One of my favorite travel memories happened during a trip to France in the mid-1990s.
It had been raining for weeks when we rented a car and drove toward Normandy to visit ruins associated with William the Conqueror. As we pulled into the parking area, our rental car promptly got stuck in the mud.
It was Sunday. Nothing was open. Thankfully, I speak French.
We walked into town and explained our predicament to a local gentleman we saw washing his car. He came back to help, but the three of us couldn’t get the car unstuck.
He told us to wait.
About 30 minutes later, he returned with four or five other local gentlemen. Another local family had also arrived with a rope in their car. They tied the rope to the rental car, everyone pushed, and eventually we were free!
Today, it’s one of those travel stories I’ll never forget—and one I can finally laugh about. And that’s one of the things I love most about travel: sometimes the moments you never planned become the stories you remember forever.
A Few Things You Should Know About Me
✈️ Window seat? Absolutely.
🍰 Travel guilty pleasure? Desserts—especially cheesecake—and spa visits.
🥤 Coffee? No thank you. I’ll take a Diet Coke.
🍺 When I travel? Beer is my drink of choice.
🛫 Travel deal-breaker? Extremely long layovers—anything over five hours—and multiple connections whenever they can be avoided.
🏙️ Dream destination? Dubai. I’m fascinated by the architecture and would love to experience it in person.
