Why You Need To Find A Good Travel Agent

Now more than ever you need to find a good travel agent. Airline cancellations, hotel and resort closures, travel restrictions, and destination entry requirements vary.

need to work with a good travel agent

There are numerous consumer complaints about online travel sites and their spotty record of customer service recently, and those that just closed up shop never to be heard from again. Past & current issues ranging from unspecified post-trip charges to credit cards, airline tickets being rebooked to the wrong destination after a schedule change, being bounced from one supplier to another to resolve a problem, and hotel reservations not on record when guests show up. Add to that long hold times and dropped calls when needing to talk to a human and a lack of response to questions and complaints.

find a good travel agent

There are numerous stories about how agents saved the day for their clients. Getting them where they needed to go, and then working to get their customers refunds and credits. This is the best reason to work with a good travel agent, advocacy. Travel advisors have relationships with those who make decisions. If something goes wrong you have someone to step in to help you.

People are getting fed up with their online travel experience. Google’s research shows it takes 32 visits to 10 websites just to book a single airline ticket. Don’t waste your time or money; find a travel advisor to work with.

All Villa Resort in the Riviera Maya

On my recent visit to the Riviera Maya of Mexico, I focused on seeing resorts in Playa del Carmen that I have not seen before. Set in a tropical jungle-like enclave along the white sands of Playa, is the home of the Viceroy. This all-villa resort in the Riviera Maya offers you true luxury accommodations, amazing outdoor massage cabanas, and views that will leave you speechless.

The Viceroy offers 41 villas. It is for adults only, but children over the age of 12 are welcome. The resort offers an all-inclusive package that can be added to your stay. There are several villa categories to choose from; the best one is the beachfront villa, where you will be just steps from the sand.

Each villa includes your own heated private plunge pool, outdoor rain shower, and a hammock for two. Renewed energy and wellness are all part of the experience at the Viceroy Riviera Maya. The spa treatments are based on natural local resources and Mayan traditions. During my visit, we were able to participate in a Mayan blessing ceremony. The spa services include many options for you to experience a Mayan journey.

Mayan Ruins

The Mayan ruins of Tulum, Chichen Itza, and Coba draw visitors from around the world annually. Tulum, the smallest of the three historical sites, is perched on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean sea. Chichen Itza, the largest, is 120 miles from Cancun and it’s Kukulkan Pyramid is now one of the new seven wonders of the world. Coba is one of the lesser-known sites in a jungle setting surrounded by two lagoons. There are 120 steps to the top of the main pyramid; which you can still climb but it is a steep trek.

Cenotes

The Riviera Maya is home to many cenotes, which are part of an underground river system. You can snorkel, scuba dive, swim, and even rappel down into some of the deeper cenote caverns. The La Ruta de Los Cenotes stretches from Tulum to just north of Playa del Carmen. Spend a day exploring some of the top cenotes in the area, and there are also resorts in the region that have a cenote on the premises.

The Unexpected

Something very unexpected that no one imagined doing in Mexico; a camel safari. Enjoy a camel ride in the middle of the jungle of the Riviera Maya. A totally exotic and unique experience, ride through rainforests and gaze upon the beautiful beach of Maroma.

All experiences and activities can be included in your complete travel package. Would you like to take a Mexican cooking class? Spend the day at an ecological theme park? Snorkel and sail aboard a luxury yacht? The opportunities are endless. Add your own personal touch to the top 3 experiences in Riviera Maya.
